Please protect your information

Dear Chapel Hill friends and family,

Today I received an email impersonating one of our members, the name was theirs, but the email was not.  Last week another member received an email pretending to be Pastor Becky.   Please beware of strange emails requesting or offering unusual things.  When in doubt, you can always call me (Pat) in the office to check, you can call the person who is doing the asking in the email, or just ignore the email.  Please notify Chapel Hill if you suspect someone is trying to scam you.  We value safety and we do our best to protect your information.  Please note when sending bulk email's the church office will always send via BCC, which does not display everyone's email.

Pastor Becky will never ask you for gift cards, no one needs your personal data to update anything financial in nature.

One way to guard against getting scammed or to see who is the real sender, use your mouse/cursor to hover over the sender's email.  This will show the true email address sending the email.  Just seeing Chapel Hill would make someone think it's a legitimate email, but hovering over the name "Chapel Hill" may uncover that it is not the Chapel Hill Email.  Which is chapelhill410@att.net.  Please be safe!
