Monday: Food Pantry Preparation and Emmaus Gathering

Start your week by helping prepare for the Food Pantry. Volunteers gather at 8:00 a.m. to organize and pack food items that will be distributed the next day. This is a great way to support families in need and contribute to the church’s outreach efforts.

Later in the evening, the Emmaus group meets at 5:30 p.m. at Bill Miller/Military. This gathering offers fellowship and spiritual growth through shared stories and prayer. It’s open to all who want to deepen their faith in a supportive setting.

Tuesday: Food Pantry Distribution and UWF Leadership Meeting

Tuesday morning begins with the Food Pantry distribution at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers hand out food to community members, providing essential support to those facing food insecurity.

At 10:30 a.m., the United Women in Faith (UWF) team meets for their leadership session. This meeting is a chance for members to plan upcoming activities and discuss ways to serve the church and community.

In the afternoon, join the Sit and Stretch class at 2:00 p.m. This gentle exercise session helps improve flexibility and relaxation, suitable for all ages.

Wednesday: Diaper Pantry, Youth Outing, and Evening Fellowship

The Diaper Pantry opens from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. This ministry provides diapers to families in need. If you want to participate or need more information, contact Gary Gallegos at 210.868.3236.

Youth will gather for a special outing at Luckey Ranch from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event celebrates the birthdays of Janiyah and An with fun and fellowship.

Dinner is served at 6:00 p.m. during the Faith Up Wednesday supper. Afterward, at 7:00 p.m., several groups meet:

  • Reflections Group

  • Open Road Group

  • Barclay Group (on Zoom)

These gatherings provide opportunities for spiritual reflection, discussion, and community connection.

Thursday: Sit and Stretch Class

Take a break and join the Sit and Stretch class again at 2:00 p.m. This session offers a calm environment to improve mobility and reduce stress.

Friday: Haven for Hope Volunteer Carpool

Volunteers heading to Haven for Hope will meet at the church at 3:30 p.m. for carpooling. The volunteer shift runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. If you want to join, please contact Kelly Harper or Paul Collins. This is a valuable chance to support people experiencing homelessness in our area.

Next Sunday: Lydia Circle and Holy Land Olivewood Sale

Lydia Circle meets at 9:30 a.m. on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10. This group gathers on the second Sunday morning of each month for fellowship and spiritual growth. For more information about joining, contact Barbara Arceneaux.

Also next Sunday, the church will host a sale of olive wood items crafted by Christian families in Bethlehem. These beautiful handmade carvings help support the livelihoods of Christians in the Holy Land, where they make up less than 1% of the population. Purchasing these items helps preserve their traditions and provides direct assistance to these artisans.
